The name Hayao Miyazaki is undoubtedly a name familiar to many people. Some people may recognize the name, but not remember where it came from. The others know who he is, but they don't remember his name. Even if you don't know his name, you've probably heard of some of his work. He is the creator of several beloved anime films that have been enjoyed by many people. Miyazaki was born in Tokyo, Japan on January 5, 1941. He grew up with his three brothers and attended a few different schools. He started animating in 1963 and started getting noticed for his work in 1965. His work definitely had an impact on anime, because it made it more well known. His movies are what got many kids to start watching anime. Even though the films are intended for children, they can be enjoyed by any age group. For these reasons, Hayao Miyazaki deserves to be nominated for the "A World of Talent" award. Hayao Miyazaki is a very talented animator and director. According to an interview for The Guardian, "By the numbers, he is the most successful Japanese director" (www.theguardian.com). His film Spirited Away broke Titanic's box office records in Japan. This film has won numerous animation awards and is not the only one of his films to have won awards. This alone shows how popular his work is. Princess Mononoke also broke records at the time of its release. People have called him a god, and for good reason. Miyazaki himself has won awards, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Venice Film Festival. This quote shows one aspect of his success as an animator. Not only were his films successful at the box office, but they also managed to bring popularity to anime. Hayao Miyazaki's films here... middle of paper... go to his head. Miyazaki had many good qualities and his films are wonderful. For all these reasons, it is clear that Hayao Miyazaki should be nominated for the "A World of Talent" award.
