Shakespeare uses multiple themes and images such as blood, sleep, darkness and light to develop the personality of a central character in the play Macbeth. Macbeth was portrayed as a brave and honorable general, we see this when Duncan sees a soldier and proclaims "What a cursed man is that", says the soldier "smoked by bloody execution" praises Macbeth's bravery and fearless courage on the battlefield.This causes king Duncan to glorify macbeth which makes him known as "Brave macbeth". respect and an honorable reputation. As the play continues, he begins to move from a less noble man to a horrible dishonest one.
