Working in the medical field can be stressful and any care team must be able to think critically and efficiently. More importantly, the care team must work together, addressing the many circumstances that life can bring to those double doors. Whether you are a nurse, medical assistant, veterinarian or veterinary technician, there is a common goal that everyone shares, and that is to save lives and treat the sick in any way possible. I believe as a veterinary technician I will face many challenges and pains every day. I will be introduced to situations that can be difficult to discover: seeing animals showing typical signs and symptoms of malnutrition and abuse. Unfortunately having to euthanize or euthanize an animal due to chronic illness or financial reasons by the caregiver(s) (“owner”). I will also vaccinate and administer medications to an animal under the order and supervision of a veterinarian. I will perform tests together with the vet and obtain body fluids such as blood, urine or feces for further diagnosis. I will be present in observing and helping an animal in need of medical assistance. Luckily I will be there to observe an animal walking “on all fours” along the path to its successful recovery. As a veterinary technician my aim will be to enable the patient to feel and look healthy. I would like to see the faces of healthcare workers change from worried to relieved and grateful. I realize that as a veterinary technician I will have to accept the good times along with the bad. I am extremely interested in pursuing my career as a veterinary technician because I believe that the well-being and stability of every animal is as important as that of a human. Absolutely... middle of paper......animals in need. I will be able to come in every day and be the reason an animal walks away wagging its tail or just feeling better. I look forward to working alongside a vet and other technicians or assistants. I believe that how I feel about an animal's well-being will make me a suitable asset to any veterinary care team. I understand that animals experience all the feelings and emotions that humans do. I want to make a difference in the life of an animal and its caregiver. I know that as a veterinary technician it will not be easy and unfortunately the recovery of an animal will not always be successful. I will do my best to help the well-being of any animal, no matter what. I will remember what college and my instructors taught me and I will use the skills in my career doing what I have always wanted to do: give back to the lives of animals.
