Topic > Pearl's Essay - 841

Kino, Juana, and Coyotito may have been poor, but they were happy just the way they were. When they go out to look for the pearl to pay Coyotito to go to the doctor, they both don't think a pearl could harm them. When they find the biggest pearl they are very joyful, until they begin to have differences. Kino believes the pearl is the key to success and Juana sees that it contains evil. In the end, when they both lose Coyotito to the pearl, they both have the same vision of the pearl and throw it back into the ocean hoping to never remember what a pearl did to their children.
