Topic > A digital skills assessment for the IMB program - 2064

The purpose of this assignment is to assess the digital skills provision for the IMB programme, a course I am currently enrolled on at University College London. When evaluating the digital skills provision for our course I will discuss factors such as which aspects are effective and which are not, what needs to be changed to make things more effective and my personal involvement in a particular activity and whether it has benefited me in any way. sense . As I am now in my third year of the course, I feel I can comment thoughtfully and critically on this topic and have a variety of different viewpoints that I will evaluate, some of which are specific to my personal career plans and others where I am attempting to empathize with the opinions of some of my fellow course members, which I understand may be different to my own. I will start by briefly assessing my reasons for choosing the course as my number one choice in my UCAS application in first place and then analyze whether my expectations for the course were met or not. Going back to when I was completing my UCAS application, what attracted me most about the Information Management for Business (IMB) course was the way the course was being developed by e-skills in close collaboration with some of the largest and most most successful in the world such as "British Airways, BT, Computer Associates, Ford, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Morgan Stanley, Aviva, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Procter & Gamble, Capgemini, Accenture and Unilever". This fact made me optimistic in my prospect of finding a desirable job after graduation, as I thought I might eventually end up working at one of those companies in the future. In addition to that, the fact that the course was focused on development...... middle of paper ......smart, due to the scarcity of technology students in the UK, one of the positive aspects I could benefit from by the high rate of employment after graduation, which is one of the major advantages of the course. This is particularly significant in an environment where large percentages of graduates appear to have difficulty finding good, well-paid jobs, including those taking good courses at well-known universities. Besides the high probability of getting a job in the first place, it is also likely that it could be at one of the largest companies in the world, like the ones I have listed above and as a result, working for a large successful company brings with it it a proportionately high salary. I have no regrets about my decision to select the IMB course and am deeply grateful for the insight and support that digital skills have provided me over the years.
